A recently completed Guided Auger Boring project in Stranraer, Scotland saw the successful installation of 35m of DN225 Steinzeug Keramo vitrified clay jacking pipes delivered across two controlled drives.
The 1st crossing facilitated the installation of a new surface water drain from a large retaining pond, designed to manage flood elevation. The 2nd crossing provided the foul water connection for new properties within the development.
Both crossings were completed beneath a main road, connecting into existing 1200mm diameter manholes on the opposite side – all without requiring a road closure on a key commuter route serving surrounding areas, fishing operations and ferry ports.
With precise setup and controlled steering, the team achieved accurate line and level while maintaining minimal surface impact – combining advanced trenchless methods with durable, long-lasting materials.
